We have compiled a set of bilingual international textbook One Character, One Poem and One Story, which provides overseas Chinese children a shortcut to learn Chinese.

The essence of an extensive approach is that the reason to learn the characters is only to provide the conditions for reading and writing.

Instead of making reference to the historical origins of the characters, 李衛民 Li in 浙江溫嶺 Wenling, Zhejiang suggests a more liberated approach to learn the compositions of the characters.

  Alongside the extensive approach is the proposal of using pinyin to enable early development of reading and writing the characters (i.e., 注音识字，提前读写(using pinyin to enable early reading)).
